Family Holidays in Ibiza

Forget the notion that Ibiza is only a place for young people who want to party all night.

The party area of the island is very small and occupies only a small part of what Ibiza has to offer. Do not be afraid to book a family holiday in Ibiza, the island is an ideal holiday destination where parents and children can have fun. We suggest some of the things you could do with your children in this fabulous island in the Mediterranean.

Beaches for kids

Almost every beach in Ibiza is family friendly, but some of which are more than others. Cala Tarida, near San Josep has shallow water and a sandy sea bed. Nearby it is also Cala Valdella, a quiet cove where you can have fun with the kids. On the opposite side of the island, not far from the famous market of Las Dalias, we find Cala Nova, a very popular beach for families. If you want a smaller, and more intimate beach, we recommend Es Niu Blau near Santa Eulalia, this is also an excellent area for hiking. The best family beach in Ibiza, is without doubt Ses Salines characterized by a long stretch of sand and clear water, accompanied by a natural environment of Mediterranean forests. Before the beach you can find the salt pans of Ibiza, where children can touch the sea salt with their hands.

Hiking & culture

One of the best places to visit with your children is Dalt Vila, the old town of Ibiza. Small cobblestone streets, will take you on the top of the fortress where you can enjoy a breathtaking view. In the streets of Dalt Vila we find more shops offering local crafts, some restaurants and bars. Your children will see old cannons, so they can play at being real pirates. In summer there are many markets on different parts of the island, with an hippie like atmosphere in the neighborhood of La Marina, near the port, where you can buy necklaces and bracelets and other crafts. Another thing you can do is a day trip to Formentera. You can make beautiful Rambling boat rides and see dolphins sometimes stationed in the narrow channel separating the two islands, the journey takes just over half an hour.
