Ibiza hippy markets: enjoy a fun shopping experience

Have you heard about the famous Ibiza hippy markets? the Ibiza Markets are one of the island’s main attractions and a must for every tourist.

The markets, where you can also learn more about the history and culture of the island, are widespread and represent the triumph of the local craftmanship . In fact, you can buy hand-made products, at low prices, such as pottery, keyrings or wallets and traditional footwear made of braided rope, called alpargates.

Among the markets not to be missed is the hippy of Punta Arabí, Es Canar, which was created in the 70s and since then continues weekly Wednesdays from April to October on the island of Ibiza. It is in fact the oldest market of the island. Held within a residential club, surrounded by many bars, you can find clothing , and a wide range of silver handicrafts, leather, jewelery, costume jewelery and fashion, gifts, furniture , African art at accessible prices.

You can also get a piercing or a tattoo done to remember your holiday. In addition, from 2:30pm until 6pm there is a chance to be a spectator of some surprise event.

The hippy market of Punta Arabi is open every Wednesday from April to October.

Another must is the market Las Dalias, which takes its name from the adjacent restaurant and this takes place every Saturday from 11am to 9pm. It is very bizarre and colourful especially for the place where it is located. In fact, It is centrally located in a garden near a well-known club. It has about five hundred very colourful stalls.

There are also other traditional markets, where you can also buy local food and wine. Among them is that of Santa Eulària, which takes place in July and August, where you can find many handmade products, food products and oriental objects. Or, on Friday from 11am to 8pm, to Playa d’en Bossa, similar to Santa Eulalia, where, however, you can find items and souvenir shopping.

One of the most picturesque markets is that of San Miquel, the artisans market. And the ideal place to buy handmade art objects by local craftsmen, it is packed with stalls where artists perform engraving on bracelets and wallets. It is open every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm.

Other smaller markets arethe one on the promenade of Ses Figueretes, which is held every day from May to October; the hippie market of Sant Antoni, always from May to October; the market of Sant Rafael and the craft of Santa Gertrudis. In April the Craft Fair in Ibiza is a must, where they are you can find ancient objects and local traditions.
