Discover the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza – Part 1

Known as the non stop party island, Ibiza is also a natural paradise full of places to relax. There are over 80 beaches in Ibiza: you can choose the one you like best. The beautiful beaches of Ibiza are all different, from long stretches of white sand to small coves among the rocks, from family beaches to the most sought after, but one thing they all have in common: they overlook a wonderful crystal sea .

Las Salinas Beach

Las Salinas is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza and certainly one of the most popular on the island. Located within the Las Salinas Natural Park including Las Salinas and the seaside that divides this beach from Formentera, it is a pretty natural beach of fine white sand and crystal clear waters.

Las Salinas is an ideal beach for families with small children because of its shallow waters so children can play safely. Also it is one of the largest  and best beaches on the island because along the beach there are several chiringuitos (beach bars), some with music all day.

Es cavallet Beach

It is miles of beautiful soft white sand beach, belonging to the special protection zone for Birds and to the Special Interest Area of Ses Salines, as well as officially declared nudist beach. The coast, about 1200 meters long, is surrounded by a pristine and wild landscape and has dunes dotted with pines and bushes and, further away, ponds populated by migratory birds. The sea is very beautiful, turquoise, crystalline and transparent,  shallow and sandy, ideal for swimming.

Cala D’Hort Beach

Cala d’Hort is one of Ibiza’s most famous beaches and certainly offers one of the best views of the island. This beach faces the islands of Es Vedrà and Es Vendranell, two huge rock formations that emerge in the middle of the sea. Cala d’Hort is also known for protecting the environment, since some years ago it was declared a natural park to prevent  its surroundings from being built up.

Cala d’Hort is a V-shaped sandy beach surrounded by cliffs. In this beach you will find some of the best restaurants on the island, for fresh fish. If you have the opportunity to stay on this beach until the evening do not miss the sunset over Es Vedrà, one of the best on the island.

Cala Comte Beach

Cala Comte is one of the most beautiful beaches with turquoise blue water that resembles those of the Caribbean. Right in front of the center of the beach is a small island called Illa d’es Bosc, which makes the panorama even more interesting.

The beach of Cala Comte is actually composed of two separate beaches on a rock, Cala Comte and Raco d’en Xic, as well as another small accessible cascade down a stairway in the rock at the far end of Raco d’en Xic. One of the great attractions of this beach is its sunset, visible from the sand or sitting at the bar that sits at one end of the bay.

The only thing to remember for Cala Comte  is that as it is  small, it gets very crowded, especially in summer.

Cala Xarraca Beach

The bay of Cala Xarraca, north of Ibiza, is a long and narrow beach completely surrounded by rocks, characterized by a clean and transparent sea perfect for snorkeling.

The beach is divided into two sections: the first, is white sand and is where most tourists stop because of the presence of a restaurant; the second, at the end of the beach is where you can access a smaller and more secluded bay where nudism is practiced.

But the beach’s main attraction is snorkeling: its crystal clear water is perfect for watching a bit of marine life, from fish to octopus, from cuttlefish to sea stars. A unique place in the Mediterranean and without a doubt one of the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza.

 Cala LIonga Beach

It is a beautiful, light blue sand beach with a Blue Flag, set within a spectacular U-shaped deep creek over 700 meters, bordered by tall, steep cliffs. The coast is about 200 meters long and is surrounded by cobblestones covered with Mediterranean scrub on which several large hotels come to light. The sea is very beautiful, turquoise, crystalline and transparent,  shallow and sandy, ideal for swimming. The beach is well-equipped, offering numerous facilities, from restaurants to bars and kiosks, and the opportunity to practice several water sports. In high season it is very crowded and often beaten by the wind.
