Hippy Street Market

8910999462_5fd1252c29_b An ancient undeniable tradition is that of the craft, which over time has become a symbol of Ibiza. The markets that never fail on the island are often the expression of a very active local craft production. Ceramics, leather items, and the traditional footwear made of braided rope, popularly called ‘alpargates’, are some of the typical products of the island. Hippy Markets, cult of Ibiza, are the best opportunity to find these lovely items and buy them at a good price. The oldest of these markets is Es Canar, in the northeast of the island, where there is really everything, wicker baskets and oriental fabrics, especially Indian. Even in the afternoon, especially in the months of May and for throughout the summer, you can listen to good seventies music, swaying through the whole market. (photo credits: snapcandy)
