Through Dalt Vila to the Exclusive Harbour

Arriving at the airport of Ibiza town (about 8 km) you will notice immediately the old center, which emerges from the hill.  The closer you get to Eivissa, the more the city grows, from the classic first suburbs, that almost all visitors go through just to get to the true center: in the middle of the harbor bay with moorings for ferries to Formentera. On the left and open to the sea, Marina de Botach, the exclusive yacht harbor; the right neighborhoods of the Marina and Sa Penya, and above all, the Dalt Vila. Up there, in the hotels and apartments property of impeccable style live the chic people, just below the defensive walls. In the old town neighborhoods, Marina and Sa Penya, life shows itself in all its bustle and vivacity. Moving towards the west the situation is more quiet: the Vara de Rey neighborhood is more middle-class and its center is the avenue of the same name. And here there is the normal city life, with shops, restaurants and leisure possibilities. Opposite, on the north side of the bay, are the Nova Eivissa harbor district, with the famous Pacha club, and the more sporty Botach Marina, with numerous berths for yachts and commercial area. Here reside the wealthy, as the various activities and the project of French architect Jean Nouvel for the first residential building with rooftop garden hint at. (photo credits: Manolo Gomez)
